Feeder Vessel

A Feeder Vessel is a specialized ship utilized to establish a connection between a mother vessel or line vessel and a port that is not directly served by the main vessel. It serves as an intermediary carrier, transporting cargo between the main vessel and ports that are not included in the vessel’s regular route. Feeder vessels play a vital role in extending the reach of shipping networks by providing access to smaller or remote ports that cannot be served by larger vessels due to size or navigational restrictions. These vessels efficiently distribute cargo, ensuring goods are transported from the mother vessel to their final destination or from ports not directly called at by the main vessel, thus enhancing connectivity, trade, and logistical efficiency in the maritime industry.
