To achieve zero-carbon shipping, Norden has launched a 100% carbon-neutral biofuel sailing option for customers.  They believe the green options can decarbonize the supply chains.

The biofuel sailing is the first in a range of green freight products to be rolled out to customers this year as part of Norden’s transition to zero-carbon shipping by 2050.

Norden has secured supply of renewable biofuel made from waste cooking oil and is in discussion with several customers over the first carbon-neutral freight contract.

Apart from Norden, container shipping company ONE is also working hard to achieve zero-carbon shipping with biofuel.  The company has completed the third trial of biofuel in a 45-day freight journey.  The success of the trial proves the potential of sustainable biofuel components.  This will help to reduce carbon footprint to achieve zero-carbon shipping emission by 2050.
