A mixed load in logistics refers to a situation where a shipping container is loaded with various types of items in a seemingly random or disorganized manner. Unlike the typical practice of sorting and arranging items for easy unloading, a mixed load occurs when a shipper neglects to separate different styles, purchase orders (POs), stock keeping units (SKUs), or products within the container. As a result, the contents of the container are not unloaded in an orderly fashion but instead come out in a completely mixed state. This lack of organization can pose challenges during the unloading process, requiring extra effort and time to sort and separate the different items within the container.
