Cabotage

Cabotage refers to the transportation of goods or passengers between two locations within the same country by a foreign transport operator. Primarily associated with maritime and aviation activities, cabotage involves moving goods or people by sea or air. In the shipping industry, it specifically pertains to using a vessel registered in a foreign country to transport goods or passengers between two ports or places within a country. Cabotage regulations are implemented by countries to protect their domestic transportation industries, promote economic growth, and maintain control over their national borders and transportation networks.
