Inside Delivery Fee

An inside delivery fee is an additional charge imposed by a trucker when they are required to enter a location to either retrieve or deliver cargo. This fee is typically applicable in situations where the delivery involves installation or when the trucker needs to go beyond the front door or loading dock of a facility. If a shipper lacks a designated loading site at their premises, it can pose challenges for the carrier in handling the pickup or delivery process. Hence, upon request, the driver can be enlisted to enter the facility and complete the shipment, subject to an extra fee. The inside delivery fee is designed to compensate the trucker for the additional effort and time involved in navigating and accessing the interior of a location for cargo handling purposes.
