A commodity is a basic good that is used in commerce and can be exchanged with other goods of the same type. Commodities are usually inputs in the production of other goods or services. Commodity is a specification of goods/product types, such as toys, electronics or welding machinery, they can also be products of agriculture or mining, such as grain, corn, or metals. The quality of a commodity may vary slightly, but it is generally uniform across producers.
