Heavy Lift Charge

Heavy Lift Charge

A Heavy Lift Charge refers to an additional fee imposed for cargo that exceeds the weight limitations of standard cranes or ship’s tackle. When cargo is exceptionally heavy and cannot be lifted using regular lifting equipment, specialized heavy-duty cranes, rigging, or lifting gear are required. The Heavy Lift Charge covers the costs associated with the use of such specialized equipment and the additional resources needed to handle and transport the oversized or overweight cargo. This charge compensates for the extra effort, equipment, and expertise required to ensure the safe and efficient handling of the cargo, reflecting the unique challenges and expenses involved in managing heavy lift operations within the shipping or logistics industry.
