Export Declaration

An export declaration refers to a form that is completed and submitted at the port when exporting goods. This document contains detailed information about the goods being sent to a country outside the European Union (EU). Its purpose is to enable customs authorities to exercise control over exports. Export declarations are mandatory for every export shipment to a non-EU country. The preferred method of declaration is electronic registration, especially for goods with an invoice value of 1000 Euro or more or weighing 1000 kg or more. However, depending on the nature and value of the goods, verbal or conclusive customs declarations may also be accepted. Ultimately, an export declaration ensures compliance with customs regulations and facilitates the smooth movement of goods out of the country.
