Shippers Export Declaration

Shippers Export Declaration (SED), now also known as Electronic Export Information (EEI), is an official document that must be submitted when exporting from the United States. When exporting goods worth more than $2,500, or when special permission is required, the exporter or his or her authorized agent must submit this declaration through the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Automated Export System (AES).

Export declaration forms are mainly used for:

Regulation and Control: Ensure export activities comply with U.S. export controls and sanctions regulations.

Collect necessary information: Collect all necessary information including exporter, consignee, description of goods, etc.
