High Cube Non-Functioning reefer container (HNOR)

A High Cube Non-Functioning reefer container (HNOR) is a specific type of equipment utilized when a reefer container is provided as a substitute for a DRY/HIGH container. HNOR containers are essentially non-functioning reefers, meaning they do not have the capability to control or maintain temperature like regular refrigerated containers. These containers share the same dimensions as High Cube containers, offering increased vertical space for accommodating taller cargo. However, HNOR containers lack the refrigeration machinery and insulation necessary for temperature-sensitive goods. They are typically employed when shippers require the additional height of a High Cube container but do not need the refrigeration feature. HNOR containers provide a cost-effective alternative for cargo that does not require temperature-controlled conditions while still offering the benefits of increased internal capacity.
