Less Than Container Load (LCL)

LCL, or Less-than-Container Load, refers to a freight shipping method where goods are loaded into a container alongside other cargoes owned by different parties, each with their own Bills of Lading. This approach is cost-effective compared to full-container-load (FCL) shipping and is suitable for transporting smaller quantities of goods that do not fill an entire standard cargo container. LCL shipping involves the consolidation of shipments to optimize space utilization. By sharing a container with other cargo, LCL allows for timely transportation of smaller shipments and provides flexibility to accommodate varying demand and availability during busy periods. It enables the use of palletized boxes, crates, or small package boxes, ensuring efficient and reliable shipment of goods.
