Out-of-Gauge Cargo (OOG)

Out-of-Gauge Cargo (OOG) refers to break bulk cargo that does not fit within the dimensions of a standard container, making it unsuitable for traditional container stuffing. OOG cargo requires special handling and equipment due to its size, shape, or weight. This type of cargo often includes oversized or over-dimensional items that cannot be accommodated in a standard container. To transport OOG cargo, specialized equipment such as flat racks, platforms, or open-top containers are utilized. These containers allow for the secure transportation of irregularly shaped or oversized cargo, ensuring its protection during transit. OOG cargo requires careful planning and coordination to ensure proper loading, securing, and transportation, as it deviates from the standard containerized shipping practices.
