Release

“Release” refers to the act of granting permission for cargo to be transferred from the carrier to the consignee or their authorized agent. It signifies the point at which the carrier relinquishes control and responsibility over the cargo, allowing the consignee to take possession and assume ownership. The release process involves verifying the necessary documentation, such as the bill of lading and any applicable customs clearance documents, to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Once all requirements are met, the carrier authorizes the release of the cargo, enabling the consignee or their agent to take physical possession and proceed with further logistical arrangements, such as transportation, warehousing, or distribution. The release of cargo marks a pivotal stage in the supply chain, signifying the successful handover of goods to the intended recipient for further utilization or commercial purposes.
