Marks and Numbers

Marks and numbers in logistics refer to identifying labels or symbols used to distinguish and track shipments or specific components within a shipment. Typically placed on the exterior of packaging, these markings enable easy visibility and legibility. The most commonly used mark is the barcode, which can be scanned by machines to quickly and accurately identify the contents of a package. Other forms of marks and numbers include alphanumeric codes, such as order numbers, that indicate the sequence for loading or unloading items within a shipment. Additionally, symbols may be used to denote the type of contents contained within the package, aiding in efficient handling and sorting processes.
