Genset

A Genset, short for Generator Set, is a specialized power unit used to supply electricity to refrigerated containers, also known as reefer containers, when an external power source is not accessible. Its primary function is to regulate and maintain the required temperature within the reefer container, ensuring the preservation and freshness of temperature-sensitive cargo. Gensets are equipped with their own power source, typically a diesel engine, which generates electricity to operate the refrigeration system of the container. Alternatively, they can be connected to power plugs provided on the pier or vessel, utilizing external power sources. Gensets play a crucial role in the transportation and storage of perishable goods, providing a reliable and independent power solution to maintain the desired temperature conditions throughout the journey.
