CFS (Container Freight Station)

Container Freight Stations (CFS) are pivotal logistics facilities located near major transport hubs like ocean ports and terminals. These stations handle Less than Container Load (LCL) shipments, where they perform consolidation (grouping different shipments into one container) and deconsolidation (separating consolidated shipments for delivery to final recipients). A Container Freight Station (CFS) enables efficient handling and movement of smaller shipments that do not require a full container by themselves, thus optimizing container space and reducing shipping costs for shippers. The process at a CFS involves receiving shipments at the origin station where they are consolidated for the main leg of their journey and then deconsolidated at the destination station for distribution. This system significantly enhances logistic efficiency and reduces the complexities associated with international shipping of smaller cargoes.
