A drop and pick (also known as a drop and hook) is a trucking delivery option for high-volume FCL. It is a process where the truck driver delivers a full container at a warehouse and leaves with a different empty container. The driver simply drops the loaded container and hooks on a different trailer with an empty container then leaves. It is one of the most efficient freight delivery processes in shipping. A drop and pick is less expensive than a drop or a live unload; however, it’s only possible if you have containers arriving every few days.
