Ocean Transport Intermediary (OTI) is a term used in our Operating System to specifically refer to freight forwarding shipments. However, more generally, an OTI is used to describe an entity that acts as an ocean freight forwarder or Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC). An OTI serves as an intermediary between shippers and ocean carriers, facilitating the transportation of goods by sea. They handle various logistics functions such as documentation, booking cargo space, negotiating rates, and organizing the movement of goods. OTIs play a vital role in ensuring efficient and reliable ocean freight services, providing expertise and support throughout the shipping process for both importers and exporters
