Wharf

A wharf is a structure on the shore of a harbor or on the bank of a river or canal where ships may dock to load and unload cargo or passengers. Wharves are typically built of wood, stone, or concrete and extend from the shore into the water. They provide the necessary infrastructure for handling goods and can include cranes, warehouses, and other facilities to aid in the transfer of goods to and from vessels.
