Telex release

“Telex release” refers to an electronic message sent from the agent or shipping line at the port of loading (POL) to the agent at the port of discharge (POD). This message serves as confirmation that the shipper has surrendered the original Bill of Lading (OBL). A telex release eliminates the need for physical delivery of the OBL and allows for the release of cargo without presenting the original document at the destination port. It is a convenient and efficient method of transferring ownership of goods and facilitating smooth cargo release processes. Telex releases are commonly used in international trade to expedite the flow of goods, simplify documentation procedures, and reduce administrative burdens associated with handling physical bills of lading.
