Weight or measurement (W/M)

Weight or Measurement (W/M) is a common billing method in the shipping industry where freight charges are calculated based on either the weight or the volume of the cargo, depending on which generates higher revenue for the carrier. The calculation usually involves a set rate per ton for weight (usually in kilograms or pounds) or per cubic meter for volume. This method ensures fair compensation for carriers, especially when transporting goods that are light but take up a lot of space, or vice versa.
