Set point

“Set point” refers to the specific temperature to which a refrigerated container, also known as a reefer container, has been programmed to maintain during the transportation of temperature-sensitive goods. The set point represents the desired temperature level that the container’s cooling system should achieve and maintain throughout the entire voyage. Ideally, the set point and the actual temperature inside the container should be identical, ensuring that the goods are kept within the required temperature range to preserve their quality and integrity. Monitoring and maintaining the set point is crucial in industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, and perishable goods, where temperature control is essential to prevent spoilage, degradation, or damage to the cargo during transportation.
