Also known as longshoremen, stevedores play a crucial role in the maritime industry. They coordinate the movement of cargo, ensuring proper stowage, securing, and handling of goods during loading and unloading operations. Stevedores work with dockworkers, crane operators, and other personnel to maintain a smooth workflow, adhering to safety protocols and maximizing productivity. They possess expertise in cargo handling techniques, equipment operation, and knowledge of port regulations. Stevedores are vital in ensuring the timely and safe transfer of goods between vessels and the terminal, contributing to the overall efficiency of maritime operations.
