Ex works (EXW)

Ex Works (EXW) is an international trade term used to describe a transaction where the seller is responsible for making the product available at a specific location, typically their own premises or factory. The buyer, in turn, assumes all the costs and risks associated with transporting the goods from the seller’s location to the desired destination. EXW is one of the standardized Incoterms established by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), which defines the rights and obligations of buyers and sellers in international trade. With EXW, the seller’s responsibility ends once the goods are made available, and the buyer takes full control and liability for the shipment. The buyer must arrange for transportation, insurance, customs clearance, and any other necessary formalities to transport the goods to their final destination.
